A man accused of abducting a woman before assaulting her with a knuckleduster and spitting on her is to stand trial on July 3.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Derek Alland, 24, denied that on January 30 he wilfully or recklessly destroyed or damaged property belonging to another and smashed a mobile phone against his forehead.
He further denied that on January 30 and 31, at Balunie Place, Dundee, he abducted Danielle McCallum, repeatedly prevented her from leaving her home address by placing a large chair in front of the door and standing in front of the door, detained her against her will and assaulted her by repeatedly punching her on the head, seizing hold of her and pulling her through to the bedroom, repeatedly striking her on the foot while using a knuckleduster or similar object and repeatedly spat on her, to her injury.
Alland further denies that on the same dates, he breached his bail condition not to approach or contact Ms McCallum in any way, or to enter Balunie Place, by entering the house and being in the company of Ms McCallum.
He is alleged to have committed the offences while on bail.
