A paedophile who admitted downloading indecent images of children has been placed under supervision for three years.
Liam Green, 27, of Baldovan Terrace, admitted that between June 22 and October 2 last year, at Baldovan Terrace, he took or permitted to be taken or made indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael said the offence was in the range of a custodial disposal, but there were other options open to him.
He was placed on a community payback order under supervision for three years and on the sex offenders register for the same period of time.
Sheriff Carmichael also imposed conduct requirements on Green.
He told him that he must have prior approval from his supervising officer relating to his use of computer equipment, smart TVs, mobile telephones and also with regard to his home address.
