A man has been jailed after admitting assaulting his ex-partner by punching her on the head.
David Tracey, 30, of Gourdie Road, admitted that on October 7 last year, on Duncraig Road, he assaulted Leanne Martin, his ex-partner, by pushing her on the body and punching her on the head.
The offence was aggravated by the fact she was his ex-partner.
Tracey’s defence agent had asked Sheriff John Rafferty to consider a non-custodial disposal.
However, Sheriff Rafferty said: “This was not your first conviction for assault. Your record has convictions for domestic assault on the same person.”
He sentenced Tracey to 106 days in prison, reduced from six months due to his early plea.
