A man accused of walking into an unlocked house, entering a bedroom and imprisoning a 16-year-old at knifepoint will face trial later this month.
Liam Reilly, 22, of Court Street North, is alleged to have barricaded the door with furniture and weights, despite pleas by the homeowner and his wife to open it.
Reilly denies that, on December 28, he entered an insecure house in the Hilltown area without the permission of the householders, entered a bedroom occupied by a 16-year-old, barricaded the door with furniture and a quantity of weights and repeatedly refused to open the door when requested to do so by the householders, all while in possession of a knife.
Reilly also denies failing to appear at court on two occasions — on August 31 last year and on January 18.
He maintained his not guilty plea at a pre-trial hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court.
His trial will take place on May 17.
