Dale Duncan, 25, of Harlow Place, admitted breaching a restriction of liberty order by being outwith his home during the hours of 7pm-7am.
The order had been imposed after he admitted that on August 2 last year, at St Mungo Terrace, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, attended at the door of his partner Carly Robb, shouted at her, punched a TV and brandished a pole.
He also admitted that he assaulted her, seized her, pushed her on to the floor, grabbed her hair and repeatedly punched her on the head, jumped and kicked her on the body using both feet, causing her head to strike off a wall, seized her by the throat, threatened to kill her and covered her mouth with his hand, all to her injury.
Sentence was deferred until May 17.
