Dundee man among trio accused of attacking two people with broken bottles

Three men have appeared in court accused of a string of charges including severely assaulting two people with a broken bottle.

Trung Huynh, from Glasgow, Luan Nguyen, from Hounslow in London, and Dundee man Michael Duong, are all alleged to have caused fear or alarm by smashing glass bottles, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and uttering threats of violence on June 25 last year at Meadowside.

They are also all accused of, on the same date at Meadowside, assaulting a male by repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a broken glass bottle and repeatedly punching him, all to his severe injury.

They are further alleged to have, on the same date at the same location, assaulted a female by striking her on the body with a broken glass bottle, all to her injury and permanent impairment.

Huynh, 30, of Castlebank Place in Glasgow, is also accused of having an offensive weapon at Meadowside, namely a broken glass bottle.

Nguyen, 33, of Feltham, Hounslow, and Duong, 27, of Panmure Street, Dundee, are also accused of the same offence.

A solicitor for the three accused asked for a further first diet in order to receive information from the Crown.

Sheriff Alastair Brown granted her motion and continued the first diet until May 22.
