Man, 61, accused of underage sex with girl at Dundee Law and other addresses in the city

A man has appeared at court in Dundee accused of lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards a young child and unlawful sex with an underage girl.

Derrick Heeney, 61, of Aulton Way in Montrose, is alleged to have committed the offence towards the younger girl between August 1 and October 31 1984 at a house in Mid Craigie.

He is further alleged to have, between October 9 1990 and October 8 1992, at addresses in Dundee, used lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards a girl then of primary school age; between October 9 1992, and October 8 1993, at a house in Dundee, towards a girl then over the age of 12 but under 16; and on various occasions between the same dates at an address in Dundee, had unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl aged over 12 but under 16.

Prosecutors also allege that, between October 9 1992 and October 8 1995, at addresses in the city, Dundee Law and in a layby near to Airlie Estate, Forfar, he had sex with a person under 16.

Heeney is also accused of supplying cannabis between October 9 1991 and October 8 1995 at these addresses.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody and fully committed for trial.
