Pair deny breach of the peace and repeatedly punching man in Dundee street on Tuesday

Two men have appeared in court charged with assault and breach of the peace in an alleged incident in Lochee High Street on Tuesday.

Ryan Black and David Knight both denied the charges and were remanded in custody by Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC ahead of their trial next month.

Black, 24, of Burnside Court, Whorterbank and Knight, 31, of Salvation Army Hostel in Ward Road, both deny that on April 24, 2018, at High Street in Lochee, they behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, shouted and swore, behaved in an aggressive manner and challenged others to fight them.

They further deny assaulting Allan Miller on the same date at the same place, seizing him by the body, pulling him by the hair and repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body to his injury.

Both men also deny, on the same date and place, they assaulted Steven Miller, pushed him on the body and repeatedly punched him and kicked him on the head and body to his injury.

Their trial was fixed for May 23 with an intermediate diet on May 15.
