Two shoplifters had their sentences deferred after admitting stealing goods from Poundland in the Wellgate.
Michael Drumm, 35, and Conor MacLeod, 21, both of Transform, Soapwork Lane, admitted stealing dishwasher tablets and air fresheners from the store on Sunday.
Fiscal depute Laura Bruce told the court the goods were valued at £20 and there was full recovery.
Solicitor Jim Caird, for Drumm, said his client regretted being involved in the offence but said it was borne out of desperation as he had no money.
Sheriff George Way told Drumm he was banging on the door of a custodial sentence but would give him “one last chance” to get himself sorted out and granted him bail.
He also told solicitor advocate Jim Laverty that he would give his client MacLeod the same chance.
“It wasn’t exactly a well-planned exercise, they were always going to be caught,” the sheriff said.
He deferred sentence on MacLeod until May 9 as he has other matters calling in front of him then.
He deferred sentence on Drumm until May 18 as he has other matters calling in front of Sheriff Lorna Drummond that day.
