Jamie Duncan, 37, of Palais Court, had sentence deferred for three months by Sheriff George Way for him to be of good behaviour.
Duncan admitted that on Saturday, at a flat in Peddie Street, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that he repeatedly struck the front door of the flat with his hands and feet and demanded entry to the property.
Fiscal depute Laura Bruce told the court witnesses heard the noise and saw Duncan at his partner’s house committing the offence and called police.
Sheriff Way deferred sentence until July 17, telling Duncan he must be of good behaviour, and ordained him to appear on that date.
