Jamie Lee Ottaway, 35, admitted possessing the drug clonazolam at Dundee police headquarters.
Ottaway, a prisoner at Perth, pled guilty to the charge of having the Class C drug in his possession at the Bell Street police station on August 31 last year.
He was sentenced to 15 days in prison, reduced from 25 days, which will run concurrently with other sentences already in place.
A not guilty plea on a separate charge of possessing the Class C drug etizolam, on the same day and at the same place, was accepted by the Crown.
