A man has appeared in court accused of attacking a woman in Arklay Street with intent to rape her, while on bail for another offence.
Stephen Hutton, 38, is accused of sexually assaulting the woman by removing the clothing and underwear from the bottom half of her body while she was sleeping.
He is then alleged to have pushed her, causing her to fall off the bed and hit her head on the floor, and placed his arms around her throat, restricting her breathing.
It is alleged he did this with the intent to rape her.
Hutton made no plea at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He was committed for further examination and bailed.
