A man will stand trial at Dundee Sheriff Court charged with assaulting a man with a knife at an address in Newport.
Robert McPhee, 56, of Finlaggan Crescent, denies assaulting Scott Hughes at Roseacre Chalets on April 13 last year, by pushing and struggling with him, repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a knife, causing him to fall to the ground, and repeatedly punching him to the head and body, to his injury.
McPhee also denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by repeatedly shouting, swearing and threatening violence, on the same date and at the same location.
Sheriff George Way continued bail and set trial date for June 25, with an intermediate diet on May 31.
