A pensioner is to stand trial accused of driving dangerously round a housing scheme — almost knocking down two children before refusing to take a breath test when police turned up.
Colin Farquhar is accused of driving offences allegedly committed in Hebrides Drive and Lismore Terrace, Dundee, on Friday.
It is alleged that he drove dangerously and failed to see the two youngsters crossing a road in Mill o’ Mains.
Prosecutors say the kids were “forced to take evasive action to avoid being struck by the vehicle”.
Farquhar is then said to have struck a wall, reversed into another car, mounted a pavement and grassland, struck a fence near a petrol station there before reversing back into the road and again striking another vehicle.
Farquhar, 69, of Lismore Terrace, pleaded not guilty to charges of dangerous driving, failing to provide two specimens of breath and failing to comply with a preliminary breath test.
Sheriff Tom Hughes set a trial date in June and ordered Farquhar to appear at an intermediate diet in May.
Farquhar was granted bail.
