A woman accused of fraudulently obtaining benefits amounting to almost £60,000 over a three-year period has appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Emma Tanner, of Inchkeith Terrace, Broughty Ferry, appeared before Sheriff Tom Hughes on a petition alleging that she obtained the income support, housing benefit and council tax benefits along with tax credits, from the Department for Work and Pensions and Dundee City Council.
She is accused of, between March 24 2012 -April 17 2015, at Windsor Street in Dundee, obtaining income support of £9,565.88 to which she was not entitled; between March 26 2012-April 19 2015, obtaining housing benefit and council tax benefits of £18,294.06 she was not entitled to; and between February 12 2012-April 5 2015, £30,953.03 in tax credits to which she was not entitled.
She made no plea and was granted bail while the case was continued for further examination.
