A man who was found in possession of cannabis had his sentence deferred at Dundee Sheriff Court to allow for discussions as to the value of the drug he had when he was arrested.
Gary Mitchell, 43, of Wolseley Street, had admitted possessing the Class B drug at Wolseley Street on August 29 last year.
Following Mitchell’s admission of guilt the Crown and the defence had differing opinions on the value of the drug recovered from him.
Sheriff Tom Hughes deferred sentence on Mitchell until April 25 for a social work criminal justice report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
The deferral would enable the discussions to take place between the parties.
The sheriff allowed Mitchell’s bail order to continue.
