Brian Morrison, 45, of the Lily Walker Centre, Ann Street, was jailed for more than seven months at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Morrison admitted that at the Jam Jar pub, Whitehall Street, on January 31 he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, struggled with Dale Murray, refused to leave and re-entered the premises having been escorted out.
He also admitted that he assaulted PC Rory Duncan and attempted to bite him at police HQ, in Bell Street, on the same date.
Solicitor Anika Jethwa said Morrison was subject to a community payback order and had a long-standing alcohol addiction.
Morrison was jailed for four months on the two charges.
His payback order was revoked and a further three months and one week in jail was imposed.
