A man accused of severing a woman’s hand has appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court for a second time.
Stephen Brisbane, 32, is charged with cutting off Sandra McGowan’s right hand with a knife in South Road on February 14.
Brisbane, of no fixed abode, faces a single charge of assaulting 62-year-old Ms McGowan to her severe injury, permanent impairment, permanent disfigurement, and to the danger of her life.
No plea or declaration was made when Brisbane appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court last week.
A psychiatric assessment was ordered by Sheriff Alistair Carmichael, who continued the case for further examination.
Brisbane returned to the dock on Thursday in front of Sheriff John Rafferty, when he continued to make no plea or declaration.
Brisbane was fully committed for trial and remanded in custody.
