A woman has been jailed for two years by Sheriff Tom Hughes after being found guilty by a jury of assaulting her partner with a knife.
Borghild Townsley, 36, of Buttars Loan, was found guilty of assaulting Frank Needham on November 12 2016 at an address in Buttars Loan, by repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a knife to his injury while on bail.
Sentence had been deferred until Friday for reports but Sheriff Hughes told her: “This is a very serious matter and a custodial sentence is the only appropriate disposal.”
