Shaun Burke, of Ivanhoe Place, admitted that he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm at Strathern Road on December 2.
He admitted behaving aggressively towards his partner Julie Taylor, taking her mobile phone, throwing it to the ground, damaging it and hiding it from her to prevent her from calling the police.
Sentence on 49-year-old Burke was deferred until February 13.
