A man who assaulted his partner and two police officers was placed on a restriction of liberty order.
Peter Whyte, 39, of Charleston Road, admitted assaulting Angela Cattanach by seizing her by her shirt and pulling her on October 21, while on bail.
Prior to this, Whyte had assaulted PC Neil Robertson on March 13, in North George Street, by trying to kick him on the body. He also kicked PC Vicky Taylor on the same date in the same street.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael said: “These are both serious matters. You have a record of previous convictions and you’re in the custodial zone. There’s an option for a restriction of liberty order which I am prepared to make.”
Whyte must remain inside his house from 7pm-7am for five months.
