Neil Hand, 28, of no fixed abode, was placed on a community payback order at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Hand admitted that between October 24 and November 1, at a house in Finella Place, the Co-operative in Campfield Square and elsewhere, he caused fear and alarm to his former partner, Nichola Low, by repeatedly attending at her home and uttering threats, attending at her place of work, making numerous calls to her and sending abusive texts, while on bail.
Sheriff Alastair Brown told Hand that he must be taught not to behave in such an “overbearing and possessive manner” towards women.
The sheriff ordered him to be supervised for one year and to take part in the Respect Programme, as well as to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
