A stalker who breached a bail order not to approach or contact his ex-partner by going to her house and assaulting a man had sentence deferred.
Craig Petrie, 29, of Alloway Place, had previously admitted that on October 7, he breached his bail condition by entering Chirnside Place and approaching and contacting Natasha Selbie there. He further admitted that he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and assaulted a man at Chirnside Place on the same date.
Sentence was deferred until this week, and Petrie appeared from custody, having been jailed earlier this month by Sheriff Alastair Carmichael for a similar offence against Ms Selbie. He had previously admitted bombarding Ms Selbie with a “barrage” of emails, texts and voicemails over a six-month period following their break-up, with as many as 60 calls and voicemails being left in a single 27-hour period in June.
He also admitted breaching bail conditions by contacting Ms Selbie on February 27.
However, he continued to contact her, again in breach of his bail conditions.
Petrie is currently subject to a 12-month non-harassment order imposed on his last appearance on November 1.
He was told by Sheriff George Way to be of good behaviour and will return to court for sentence on February 15.
