A man accused of threatening to plant bombs throughout Dundee and kill members of the public has made a second appearance at the city’s sheriff court.
Patrick McCabe, 65, of Fairbairn Street, appeared in private before Sheriff John Rafferty.
The alleged threats resulted in a major incident being declared in Fairbairn Street.
Residents were evacuated from their homes while police carried out an investigation.
Personnel from Explosive Ordnance Disposal, based in Edinburgh, attended the scene
The petition alleges that on December 5, at Fairbairn Street, McCabe behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that he made repeated threats to kill members of the public and made threats to manufacture and plant bombs throughout Dundee, resulting in a major incident being declared and residents evacuated from their homes.
He made no plea and the case was continued for further examination.
Solicitor John Boyle moved for bail but Sheriff Rafferty rejected the motion and remanded McCabe in custody.
