A man has appeared in court charged with raping a teenager and threatening to stab her in Dundee on Thursday.
Mark Arnott, 36, whose address was given in court papers as No Fixed Abode, made a brief, private appearance before Sheriff Kevin Veal on a petition alleging rape and was remanded in custody while the case was continued for further examination.
Arnott is accused of, on November 23 2017, at a private car park, West Henderson’s Wynd, he assaulted the woman, approached her from behind and seized her by the body, threatened to stab her with a knife, restrained her and dragged her by the body, pushed her against a wall and demanded that she remove her clothing, then raped her.
He made no plea and solicitor advocate Jim Laverty made no motion for bail.
