Dundee man, 20, denies breaking into Wellgate and repeatedly biting handcuffs

Liam Thompson, 20, of Ladywell Avenue, will stand trial next month accused of breaking into the Wellgate centre and damaging police handcuffs by biting them.
Thompson denies that on November 9, at Rainbow Music Store in Cowgate, he struck the window of the shop with a hammer and attempted to break into the store with intent to steal, broke into the Wellgate centre with intent to steal on the same date, breached a bail curfew by being outwith his home address between the hours of 7pm-7am, and breached a bail condition not to enter Dundee city centre.
He further denies that on the same date, in a police van en route to police HQ in Bell Street, repeatedly biting handcuffs placed on his wrists and damaging them, also while on bail. Trial was set for December 4, with an intermediate diet on November 23 and he was remanded in custody.
