Man smashed up ‘intrusive’ CCTV cameras with golf club at Dundee flats
ByAlan Wilson
A man who felt CCTV cameras at his multi-storey were intrusive decided to destroy them, a court heard.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Graham Robb, 54, of Dudhope Court, was told to pay £150 compensation to the city council after he admitted smashing a CCTV camera with a golf club.
Robb also admitted spraying a “white substance” over another camera at the building in St Mary’s Place.
Solicitor Amy Fox told the court there was an ongoing issue between Robb and the council.
New CCTV cameras had been installed and the council had agreed to remove the old ones, but hadn’t done so.
Robb admitted that, on October 5 2017, at Dudhope Court, he wilfully or recklessly damaged both cameras.
Robb was also placed on a community payback order with 80 hours of unpaid work.
