Court told Dundee thief stole £130 of clothes after his benefits were stopped
ByAlan Wilson
Ryan Simpson, 21, of Salvation Army Hostel, Ward Road, had sentence deferred for reports.
Simpson admitted that on October 9, at Debenhams, Overgate, he stole a quantity of clothing, while on bail.
Depute fiscal Sue Ruta told the court the clothing was valued at £130 and there was no recovery of the items.
Solicitor Anika Jethwa said Simpson’s benefits had been stopped after he missed an appointment.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond said she would give Simpson the benefit of the doubt this time and granted him bail — but warned him if he offended again he would not be given bail again.
Sentence was deferred until November 24 for reports.
