Karl Simpson, 27, of Lowson Avenue, Forfar, was placed on a community payback order at Dundee Sheriff Court after he admitted stealing from two stores in the city.
He admitted that on September 16 last year at Maplin Electrical, Kingsway West Retail Park, he stole a drone.
Simpson further admitted stealing a TV from Asda, Myrekirk Road, on January 17 this year.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond also sentenced him to 18 months’ supervision, with a drug treatment requirement.
