A man who performed “doughnuts” and “power slides” in his BMW at Camperdown Park was fined £200.
Ian Tarbett, 22, of Hilltown, was filmed doing the controlled skids by a witness who captured the incident on his mobile and called police after Tarbett’s car was “very close to coming in contact with him”, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
Depute fiscal Trina Sinclair said the witness decided to call police because he felt the driver had deliberately tried to hit him and the vehicle left the scene and was lost to sight.
It was later traced on the Kingsway where Tarbett told officers that although he was the only person who drove the car, it had not been him who had committed the offence.
Solicitor Ross Bennett said it had been “a bit of an aberration” on his client’s part.
