Heartstart Discovery is offering two-hour training sessions in emergency life support to people across Tayside next month.
The sessions, which are free of charge, require no previous medical knowledge and will provide locals with the skills that could potentially save someone’s life.
Helen Brady, Heartstart Discovery coordinator, stressed the importance of learning such life-saving techniques.
“Emergency life support skills really do save lives, so please consider registering for a session today,” she said.
“A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken in your life.
“So, go along — you can make a difference.”
The training programme covers a wide range of scenarios and what to do in them, including caring for an unconscious person who is breathing, how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and helping someone who is bleeding badly.
Sessions are taking place in Dundee, Blairgowrie, Perth, Carnoustie and Montrose on dates throughout October.
