A man accused of knifing two people to death in a Dundee flat went on a court rant about the bloody scene that apparently met police officers.
Krzysztof Gadecki, 38, of Benvie Road, is standing trial at the High Court in Edinburgh accused of murdering Ronnie Kidd, 40, and Holly Alexander, 37, at a flat in Rosefield Street last December.
Prosecutors allege he stabbed the pair, but Gadecki denies the charges — claiming self-defence.
Giving evidence at the trial, DC Victor White described in detail more than 60 photographs taken at Gadecki’s home in Benvie Road, where a forensic examination had been carried out following his arrest on December 14.
Images of an Armani wallet were shown to the jury, which contained a picture of Mr Kidd in it.
Another showed a Post Office card from inside the wallet, which had Mr Kidd’s name and signature on it.
And images of two watches were presented, which DC White said had “apparent red markings on them, thought to be blood”.
There were also a number of photographs of furniture and walls in the property, described by the officer as having “red markings” on them – which the officer said “appeared to be blood”.
Images of a white carrier bag and green surgical gloves — all with apparent blood stains on them — were also shown to the jury.
DC White confirmed the pictures showed “various items of interest to forensic scientists”.
Proceedings were then interrupted as Gadecki shouted from the dock: “This blood is my blood, from a long time ago.”
Lord Boyd stopped the trial and Gadecki was warned about his conduct.
The jury was retired for the day shortly after.
On Thursday, the jury was shown a knife found in a sink at Gadecki’s home.
Discoveries of what DC White said he believed to be cannabis, diazepam tablets and foil wraps of brown powder, believed to be heroin, were also made.
Gadecki also denies charges of theft and attempting to defeat the ends of justice by disposing of items and depriving officers of the opportunity to submit them for forensic analysis.
The trial continues.
