Dundee man tried to stop ‘over-zealous’ police arresting woman – before he got arrested himself
ByAlan Wilson
A man who tried to rescue a woman from arrest ended up being arrested and charged himself.
Paul Burns, 34, of Denhead Crescent, did not know the woman before the incident in Seagate on June 25, but saw the officers “manhandling her” and felt they were being “over-zealous”, solicitor Scott Norrie said.
He admitted acting in an abusive manner, and resisting three police officers.
He was fined £300 for the offence.
