Two men were due to appear in court today following a disturbance in Charleston.
Emergency services were called to South Road on Friday at about 11.25am following reports that two men had been involved in a fight on the street.
Two men were later taken to Ninewells Hospital.
An area of the pavement was cordoned off while investigations took place.
Forensics officers could be seen combing the area for evidence with a trail of blood visible on the street and within the close of a nearby block of flats.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said today: “Two men aged 20 and 25 have been charged in connection with the incident at South Road and inquiries are continuing.
“They will be appearing at Dundee Sheriff Court today.”
One of the men is charged with attempted murder. The other with serious assault.
It’s not known if the pair who ended up in hospital are the same two who have been charged, or what injuries they sustained.
Artur Wypijewski, 38, a factory worker who lives nearby, previously told the Tele of witnessing the police activity.
He said: “There were a lot of police in the area and there was an officer guarding the door to the block immediately next to mine.
“I had to show an officer my identification to prove I lived in the next block as the area was cordoned off.
“I asked the officer what had happened but he wouldn’t tell me.
“I wasn’t surprised to see police around here.”
