A Dundee University dental student was found to be more than three times the drink-drive limit.
Nigel Fernandes, 26, of Peddie Street, admitted driving with 67 mics of alcohol in 100ml of breath in South Tay Street on August 13.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that door staff at Underground nightclub alerted police after seeing Fernandes driving a car and realising he’d been drinking.
Solicitor Lee Quimseh said the postgraduate student, who was a qualified dentist in India, was studying for a UK qualification in dentistry.
He said Fernandes had left the club with a friend following an argument with staff and went to the car, which he decided to move a short distance.
Sheriff Ian Anderson disqualified Fernandes from driving for 14 months and fined him £500.
