A man who struck another man on the head with a bollard during an assault before headbutting a police officer had sentence deferred.
Leon Jones, 28, of Hilltown Court, Hilltown Terrace, admitted that he assaulted Kevin McBride by kicking him on the head and striking him on the head with a bollard to his injury at Ward Road on May 2 last year.
He also admitted assaulting PC Chris Tawse by striking him on the head with his head at the same place on the same date.
Sheriff Ian Anderson told Jones that as he was already on a supervision order he would require reports and granted him bail.
Jones will return to court to be sentenced on October 4.
