Dean Martin, 34, of Salvation Army Hostel, Ward Road, had sentence deferred to September 27.
Martin admitted that on December 7 2016 at Balunie Avenue he culpably and recklessly threw a cigarette lighter at his then partner Jessica MacDonald, which struck her on the head to her injury.
He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm, by shouting and swearing in an aggressive manner towards Ms MacDonald.
