A man who had more than 2,300 child abuse images was put on the sex offenders register for three years when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court.
John Majilton, 32, of Cowgate, Tayport, had doctored pornographic images of children.
He also had images where the heads of celebrities — including teenagers — had been imposed on to pornographic images.
Fiscal depute Kirsten Letford told the court that police found the images after raiding Majilton’s former home in Fife.
His laptop was seized and a total of 2,340 indecent images were found.
Six of those were classed as category A — the most severe.
The fiscal said the images were mainly of children aged between six and 14 involved in erotic posing while wearing clothing.
Majilton admitted that between January 1 2013 and October 26 2015, he took, permitted to be taken or made indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children, at his house in Kilmany.
He also admitted distributing or showing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children on February 1 2015 at the same location.
Majilton was also placed under supervision for three years and given conduct and treatment requirements.
