John Hunter, 52, of High Street, was found guilty after trial at Dundee Sheriff Court of assaulting his partner, Dawn Anderson. The court heard that Hunter had pushed Ms Anderson on the body and caused her to strike a wall at Lochee Road and High Street on November 1 last year. Hunter also struck her on the head, seized her by the throat, hit her head against a wall and spat on her to her injury. He was also found to have shouted and sworn at Ms Anderson, and sent her an offensive remark in a message. Hunter was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work within six months.
