Ryan McKelvie, 19, of Gleneagles Avenue, was ordered by Dundee Sheriff Court to carry out unpaid work.
McKelvie admitted assaulting Christopher Sinclair by headbutting him on the head, at Rewind nightclub (formerly the Cask & Cork pub), Seagate, on January 14.
He also admitted assaulting PC Richard Wyllie by headbutting him on the head at the same location on the same date.
He was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
