A 22-year-old man admitted driving through a red light and hitting another car, leaving the other driver injured.
Ian Tarbett, of Hilltown, was fined £940 and issued with eight penalty points at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Tarbett admitted a charge of culpable and reckless driving at Albert Street, at its junction with Arthurstone Terrace, on July 28 last year.
He admitted committing the offence by driving at excessive speed for the road and conditions, failing to stop at a red traffic light, and colliding with a car, injuring Jasvor Athwal.
Tarbett further admitted driving a car without insurance at the same location and on the same date.
He was fined £670 for the culpable and reckless driving charge and £270 for driving without insurance.
