Ross Jamieson, 39, of Juniper Hill, Glenrothes, had sentence deferred.
Jamieson admitted that on March 27, in Forfar Road, Dundee, he drove a car without due care and attention by driving without paying full attention to the road, with a mobile phone in his hand, pressing the screen and repeatedly looking at the screen.
Sentence was deferred until May 23.
Meanwhile, Paul Petrie, 26, of Finlaggan Crescent, was fined £135 and issued with three penalty points.
Petrie admitted via letter to the court that on November 24 last year, on the A90 Kingsway West, he drove a car at 54mph in a 40mph zone.
And Alasdair Anderson, 31, of Sumburgh Crescent, Aberdeen, was fined £190 and issued with four driving penalty points.
Anderson admitted via letter to the court that on March 11, on the A90 Kingsway East, between Old Glamis Road and Forfar Road junction, he drove a car at 60mph in a 40mph zone.
