Francis Malone, 62, was placed under 12 months’ supervision and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within a six-month period. Malone admitted having a meat cleaver at Victoria Road and Ninewells Hospital’s Accident and Emergency department on March 24. The court previously heard Malone, of Fleming Gardens East, was found lying on Victoria Road with a head injury. Paramedics were called and when they arrived they found a vehicle stopped in the road and several people standing around Malone. He was taken to Ninewells Hospital to receive treatment to his injury. Hospital staff removed his clothes and, as they were in the process of changing him, discovered a meat cleaver in his trousers. This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
