A man who simulated sex on the dance floor of a Dundee nightclub was fined £270.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard shocked clubbers looked on as Trevor Adams, 43, simulated sex with his girlfriend Sarah McWilliams, 34.
The incident took place at Beat Generator, North Lindsay Street, on March 4.
Fiscal depute Sue Ruta said: “Both Adams and Miss McWilliams were heavily under the influence of alcohol. The club was quite busy with a band playing.
“People watching the band were drawn to notice the accused. He had been dancing very close to his girlfriend. He then lay on his back, pulled her on top of him, rubbed himself against her and simulated sexual intercourse.”
Complaints were made regarding his behaviour and police were informed.
Solicitor David Holmes, defending, said: “This particular night was not the sort of music he’s in to — his girlfriend wanted to see the band.
“He took rather a lot of drink to enjoy the action. He didn’t know what he was doing and couldn’t remember any of it until his girlfriend told him.
“This has been a significant embarrassment to him. Every time Strictly was on the TV his friends would speak to him about the way he dances.”
Adams, of Dunsinane Drive, Perth, admitted a charge of public indecency.
