Juri Rasputin, 35, of Buttars Loan, had been in a relationship with Olga Ivanova for five years and the pair had a daughter together. The relationship between the two ended in November 2015, and on December 4 that year he threatened to kill Ms Ivanova. On January 1 this year, around 3.30am, Rasputin brandished a knife at her new partner, Byron Young, at her Lilybank Terrace home, while on bail. Rasputin arrived at the address unannounced, with a small kitchen knife in his hand, and lunged at Young, before being forced out of the house. He admitted the offence and Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until January 10. This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
