A child rapist was helped by his wife to prey on a youngster in Dundee.
Scott Rose, of Artillery Lane, Dundee, attacked his victim at an address in the city in July 2014.
Rose then teamed up with his 23-year-old wife Michelle to target the same child via Facebook.
A jury heard how the teenager was bombarded with messages of a “sexual nature”.
The sick couple eventually got the child to send a naked photo of herself which was passed to Rose, who had attacked her a year earlier.
Rose, 29, had also groomed and abused another child for three years — starting when the youngster was nine.
But he and his wife were later snared and ended up in the dock together.
It resulted in Rose yesterday being jailed for a total of 10 years at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had earlier been convicted at a trial in Edinburgh of 10 charges including rape, using lewd and libidinous behaviour and porn offences.
Lord Beckett told him he had “used his size and build” to rape the child.
The judge added: “They [the victims] were manipulated in order to fulfil your depraved intentions. You have no remorse for any of this.”
Michelle Rose, also of Dundee, was convicted at the same trial of acting with her husband to communicate indecently with the child who was attacked. Sentencing on her was adjourned until next month. She remains on bail.
Rose tried to kiss his wife yesterday before being led handcuffed to the cells but was stopped by security guards.
Prosecutors said the rape of the child involved burly Rose preventing his victim from leaving the house and pulling her on to a bed.
The teenager was then hounded by the couple in 2015 via Facebook Messenger.
This involved them “engaging the child in conversations about sexual activity” ending up with her sending the naked photo.
But, years earlier, Rose had already preyed on another child. The grooming and abuse occurred at a number of addresses in Dundee, including a fast food restaurant.
The court heard yesterday that Rose continues to deny the offences and “has the support of his wife”.
Lord Beckett also ordered Rose to be monitored for four years on his release.
He was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
