A 45-year-old drunk who grabbed a woman’s bottom as she left a Dundee pub was told by a sheriff to pay compensation.
Gary Mitchell was ordered by Dundee Sheriff Court to pay £250 to his victim.
The court heard Mitchell was drinking at Cerberus Bar on Bell Street, Dundee, when he committed the offence.
Fiscal depute Isma Mukhtar said: “The accused was in the locus, walking around and causing annoyance to various customers.
“He was heavily under the influence.
“He approached a table where the complainer was sitting, then another table.
“Staff refused to serve him alcohol due to his level of intoxication and he left the pub but hung around outside for some time.”
Mitchell re-entered and exited the city centre pub several times over the course of a few hours.
When the complainer left the pub with her partner, Mitchell was standing at the door. As she passed he reached out and grabbed hold of her buttock.
Mitchell, who lives in North Lanarkshire, admitted assaulting a woman by seizing hold of her buttock at Cerberus Bar, Bell Street, earlier this year.
Addressing Mitchell, Sheriff George Way said: “You will pay compensation – it can’t be nice to be harassed in any way by someone.”
