A 17-YEAR-OLD youth had sex with a child on a grassy area outside a Dundee college building.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that the male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, repeatedly asked the child to have sex with him, despite them only having just met.
He then pointed to a grassy area in the grounds of Dundee and Angus College’s Gardyne campus and said: “Have sex with me there.”
The court heard the teenager was under a supervision order from the High Court at the time for a similar offence of having sex with another child when he was of a younger age.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson said: “The accused and the complainer met through a mutual friend in November last year.
“However, there was no contact until he added the complainer as a friend on social media in June.
“He asked to meet the child that night and the child refused.
“He asked to meet the complainer the following evening and the complainer agreed.”
The pair met around 8pm on June 7 at local shops and sat and chatted for some time before the youth asked the child to go for a walk.
The youngster said he was “immediately affectionate”, offering kisses and cuddles.
He repeatedly asked the complainer to have sex.
The fiscal said: “When they got to the college grounds the accused said ‘have sex with me there’ and pointed to a grassy area.
“The complainer followed him to the area where they had sex.
“After they had sex, the accused then said he had to leave and walked off.”
The complainer then phoned a parent, who picked the child up.
The incident was reported to police and the accused was traced and arrested.
The youth admitted the offence in court.
Solicitor Katrina Clark, defending, told the court she would save mitigation for when reports were available but said the youth “regretted” the offence.
Sentence was deferred until October 6 for reports and assessments and the youth was remanded meantime.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register.
