A MAN high on prescription drugs drove a car down the wrong side of the street with two flat tyres.
William McIntyre, 58, of Mid Road, was fined £400 at Dundee Sheriff Court.
The fine was imposed after he admitted driving a car while unfit to do so through drink or drugs, in Dens Road.
Fiscal depute John Adams told the court Ameen Alahi witnessed McIntyre driving a car at 10.40pm, on March 4.
The fiscal said: “Mr Alahi saw the accused’s vehicle being driven in front of his at the Dens Road roundabout.
“It drove straight over a roundabout and continued down Dens Road on the wrong side of the road.
“The car had two flat tyres and as it approached the lights at Victoria Road there was smoke coming from the vehicle.”
McIntyre stopped the car and got out to check the vehicle.
Mr Alahi could see McIntyre was staggering, and got out of his own vehicle and removed the keys from McIntyre’s ignition.
The fiscal continued: “A police car passed, which Mr Alahi flagged down.
“Officers spoke to the accused and suspected he was under the influence. His speech was slurred and he was swaying from side to side.”
McIntyre was given a breath test, which he passed, but later failed an impairment test at police headquarters.
Solicitor David Duncan told the court McIntyre had taken prescription drugs.
