A woman told police officers she had been drinking when they found her slumped over the steering wheel of a car which had hit a fence.
Asha Charnock, 32, of Eskdale Avenue, then failed a roadside breath test.
She was taken to police HQ and tried to provide a specimen of breath four times – failing every time. When officers asked her why she could not provide a specimen, she replied: “I’ve only got one tube.”
Fiscal Depute Sue Ruta told the court Charnock first came to the attention of officers at 4.25am on August 14, at Frederick Street.
The fiscal said: “Officers were driving to an unrelated matter.
“When they entered Frederick Street they saw the accused’s vehicle blocking the path, the rear of the vehicle having hit a fence.
“The accused was sitting slumped over with her head resting on the wheel.”
When police approached and spoke to her, she said it was her husband’s car.
She was then asked to perform a roadside breath test, which she failed, and then taken to police headquarters, where she failed to provide a breath specimen for analysis.
Charnock admitted being in charge of a vehicle whilst drunk, on August 14, at Frederick Street.
She also admitted failing to provide two specimens of breath for analysis after driving, on the same date, at police headquarters.
She was fined £375 and banned from driving for 14 months.
